You are lucky to meet Diurano, The Three Strings. He is famous for several qualities. First is of course his pleasant voice, that goes with modesty, openness and musicianship. His resemblance to Grant Heretic makes him easily recognizable. He rose to prominence several years ago after the king confirmed that he is an Advernan, a Gypsy from Nishwerdo, and courtiers and priests asked him for performance in capital cathedral on Beregnor’s Victory Day. Because Diurano is so hardly ever seen, there are people who insist that he is some fake, a kind of legend. So you are lucky to meet him.

However that is a day, when Diurano is rather not lucky. He was wandering in a forest, near the river frontier, when he met Count Mishan, his entourage and hunting dogs pack. Count Mishan is fervent Garven's worshiper and an intelligent man. He realized several months ago, that all what average Advernian knows about this cursed Grant Heretic: that he’s sluggish, ugly, not so tall, contemning everyone, comes from Diurano’s greatest hit “There lives in Vapama land…”, but when you look at face minted in Vapama’s coins you look exactly at Diurano’s portrait.

He could not believe that Lord of Light would ever allowed Grant Heretic to sing in capital cathedral about Homage, when he has never pledged reverence and submission to any god and forbid his people to do so. Count Mishan analyzed all lyrics that Diurano sang on Beregnor’s Victory Day. What a repertoire! So touching adoration and not even a single word about homage, reverence or submission.

Just a glimpse. Count Mishan recognized Bantyr immediately, and Bantyr realized that he is in trouble like never before. Count shout on his people to down Heretic. A pack of greyhounds started their chase. Bantyr turned to river and is sprinting for his live. If he manage to get into water and then swim across its icy current, he will be saved. On the other side there is a nation ready to die on his convincing lie.

Are you in need for an explanation? Three people have helped to make up Diurano. First is current Duke’s personal guard capitan Nikoraj Yrwac. He comes from Adverna having no intention of going back. When Bantyr asked, he presented him with his clothes and jewelry. Second person who helped Diurano is Duke’s ex-wife Lady Edana, an accomplished poet, able to write in three languages. She based “There lives in Vapama land…” on her secret poems that she wrote after Bantyr did what he did, spicing it with some new details like subtracting half feet of his actual height. Third helper of outstanding merit is good King Unghar, who willing to prevent countries from falling in war, lied his people that he knows Diurano from Nishwerdo.
